وهي من مجموعة  قصص قصيرة بالانجليزي . تم معاقبة شاب سارق بتعليقه على الشجرة ، وتم ربط يديه بحبل وسحبه إلى أعلى الشجرة ، وكانت قدمه بالكاد تلامس الأرض . وبينما كان يتأرجح ببطء مثل بندول الساعة الثقيل ، كان العرق يتساقط منه على طول الطريق وحتى من رقبته ، وتتخبط عظامه بين ضلوعه حتى برزت ، وأخيراً سقط بنطاله النصف الذي أصبح مبتلاً بالفعل من العرق والخوف . تشير الكدمات على جسده إلى درجة غضب من المحيطين به. لقد كان يعاقب من قرابة اثني عشر رجلاً ، يرتدون الملابس الراقية وذو كرامة اجتماعية كبيرة ، وقد أعطوا وقتهم الثمين لتعليم الصبي درسًا يحتاج إليه بالتأكيد لمعرفة ما هي نهاية السرقة وجزائها . لقد كان حقًا مشهدًا مزعجًا للغاية وقصة تعبر عن نهاية أي لص .

وهي قصة جريمة بالانجليزي ، في عام 1968 في انجلترا ، اودت ماري بيل البالغة من العمر 11 عامًا بحياة  طفلين صغيرين بخنقهم في غضون شهرين . كانت خلفيتها من بيت محطم فكانت مراهقة امها تعمل بالجنس ووالدها ومجرم نشط . عندما احتجزتها الشرطة هي وشريكتها نورما بيل وهي ليست شقيقتها بعد وقت قصير من ان قامت بجريمة القتل الثانية ، قالت ماري بالمحاكمة “ان ما قمت به هو جيد بالنسبة لي”. وقد بدت نورما في حالة ذهول. من ناحية أخرى ، قيل أن ماري كانت تظهر روح التحدي ولم تُظهر أي إحساس بالندم . وقد اوضح الأطباء النفسيون بالمحكمة بأنها “ذكية ومتلاعبة وخطيرة” . تم الافراج عن نورما لانها غير مذنبة ، بينما تم القبض على ماري مذنبة بتهمة القتل غير العمد على أساس تقليل المسؤولية عنها . أمضت ماري 12 عامًا ثم هربت لفترة وجيزة من السجن وخلال هذه الفترة طمثت هويتها واخذت اسمًا جديدًا عند إطلاق سراحها. وقيل انها أنجبت ابنة ، وأفيد في عام 2009 أنها أصبحت جدة.  وهذه القصة لـ كتابة قصة قصيرة بالانجليزي عن الجرائم الحقيقية التي عاشها المجتمع في حقبة ما .

Her background was from a broken home so she was a teenager with a sex worker, father and an active criminal. When the police detained her and her partner, Norma Bell, while she was not her sister, shortly after she committed the second murder, Mary said on trial, “What I did is good for me.” Norma was dazed. On the other hand, Mary was said to exhibit defiant spirit and no sense of remorse. The court’s psychiatrists have declared the court “smart, manipulative and dangerous.” Norma was released not guilty, while Mary was arrested guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of reduced liability. Mary spent 12 years and then escaped briefly from prison, during which time she blurred her identity and took a new name upon her release. She was said to have given birth to a daughter, and in 2009 it was reported that she had become a grandmother.
